This is repair picture #8.

Making this patch might be a problem for some DIYers. I made mine using a template that I generated using my computer and I cut it out using a sheet metal nibbler (a tool that is available at Home Depot for about $25) that I already had in my tool box. I expect that three dimes or three pennies (US currency coins) would work fine for patches. If you have had a contentious relationship with your Lexus dealer or Lexus, over this issue you could do your repair just before you take your car for service, use pennies for patches and leave off the trim piece while you take your car to the dealership. Having your $70K+ beauty with pennies stuck to the side sitting around the dealership for potential customers to see might be an effective way to let Lexus know about your displeasure. After you put the trim on, only you will know what is under there.

Thumbs up

Great job Jim!! Now how much could we beg you to fabricate these new pieces for us? It was a stretch for me to remove the trim and deal with the goo...but to now fabricate a new piece? That's going a bit further than I'm comfortable doing. I thought my "fix" was done, but I can still hear some whistling sometimes and cars going by me sound like the window is open still.

Thanks again for all your efforts!!
