Default LS460 Options

Why isnt the luxury package and the rear seat upgrade package not offered on the short wheelbase LS460 that would be a nice option to have especially since i dont like how the L looks and dont really need the size.

They don't offer the air suspension either, It seems they want to push you to spend the $$$.

Maybe they don't have room for the rear seat executive package in the SWB. I agree that the upgraded leather and the air suspension should be able to be ordered in the SWB. The exterior lines are slightly better in the SWB.

nah, rear seats upgrade is different from exec package. rear seat upgrades include rear ac, fridge, audio controls, etc... that shouldn't matter between swb and lwb exec package includes the dvd player and the massage seat

Ah, OK, I misunderstood.

Well the heck with the rear seat passengers, let'em suffer!

Actually I would pick the L version just for the looks alone, even if rear passenger space is not a preference, side profile looks way better with the 460L, but I do think the swb version without the Touring Package/air suspension option is a bummer

I prefer the swb. If I had a driver, I'd prefer the lwb.

Some of Lexus option packaging makes me wonder.

Even my 95 LS had air suspension and rode smoother than my 460 SWB and its hard to find a soccer mom's minivan that doesn't have a backseat DVD player so why I should have to purchase the 460L at 70K + to get these two options makes no sense to me.

I wonder if maybe it has to do with allocations, given that they sell the LS 460 SWB with standalone DVD player and air suspension in Japan, Europe, elsewhere. Maybe because sales volumes are much smaller abroad, but I think they should offer the full spectrum of options in their biggest market, N. America.

I will be the driver & I still prefer LWB , this car is for weekends with family members, so more space/options for everybody is a plus

I wish the DVD Player would have been an option on the LWB but it only comes on the Executive package so far.

Actually, if I have a choice, I prefer aftermarket dvd screens on the headrests, or Lexus should switch to that as an option.
