Default No hybrid tax break with LS600hL??

Started thinking about taxes, and ran into something interesting. TurboTax doesn't include the LS600hL in the cars eligible for a hybrid tax credit. The other Lexus hybrids are on the list. Same thing with the IRS web site.

Why doesn't this car qualify??? Even though Toyota is almost phased out of the deduction by virtue of high hybrid sales, my car was purchased before 10/1/07 and is a hybrid.

Did Toyota not even bother filling out the paperwork with the IRS???

Any accountants out there with thoughts on this?

Maybe its because the LS600 wasn't built as a hybrid to improve gas mileage (actually I think its rated 2 mpg less than the LS460), but rather to boost performance to rival the V12 engines of competitors.

Thanks for the find. The other IRS documents, as well as TurboTax don't include the car.

Just got in under the wire.

I guess Intuit cruises this board. The LS600hL showed up when I ran the program today after it downloaded updates. Tax credit now shows up.

Should cover a tank of gas or two.

A lambo ride can be arranged if you're ever in these parts.

The GS450h is actually built on the same concept, yet it gets a tax break I think.
