Default Garage Door controller signal strength

I was excited to have the built in controller, I trained it and it does activate the garage door.....but its range is really very short compared to my old seperate battery visor clip device! Is there a way to increase the range?

I don't know of any way to increase the range of the homelink transmitter. I've had a little luck sometimes with just repositioning the antenna on the reciever a bit. How far away are you trying to use the transmitter? I've got pretty good range with mine.

i don't know of any way to increase the range, but i am curious how far your range is too. on my gs400, sc430 (and other lexus), the range has been great. no problem having the garage door fully opened before my car arrives

The range on my LS is about 3-4 houses away, same as it was with my previous Acuras & any remotes as well. My opener is a Chamberlain rolling code unit which is about three years old. The only problem I have is with the Homelink programming procedure. Lexus updated it with the latest TSIB, but it made no difference. Previous thread detailed it.

I don't have any problem with signal strength. I can open my door from a half block away. I am going to have the TSIB done on the homelink. Mine was hard to program and it lost the code for my second garage door...

I find the range to be fine, a little futher than my '04 430, in fact. What I've found, though, is that you can't just press the button. You need to press and hold it for about 1/2 a second.

Mine works from 5-6 houses away - door can be all the way up before I see it!

range of active operating depends from homlink strenth and also from your receiver which is at your gate..

Default Garage door Controller strength

I'll have my home link strength checked out at next service....it opens the door only about 100 feet away from it.
