Default 4.6 & 5.0 liter

I wonder where the 600 with it's 5.0 liter is getting it approx 50 plus hp over the 4.6. I was thinking if Lexus stroked the motor a tad to get the extra liters. I'm sure Lexus is reusing the same block heads and intake.

I'm just guessing but I wonder if they did stroke the motor it may be as simple as changing the connecting rods and remapping the ECU.

Than again for 50 hp it might be easier to install free flowing mufflers and just a remap......Wish more companies had tuner parts for this car. Guess I'm in the minority in my area, old folks still make up most of the demographic.

The extra horses are coming fom the electric motors. The 6 litre designation is theoretical, and is a number that would be achieved by factoring electrical potential into mechanical displacement, and adding it to the internal combution engine's 5.0 litres. It's a fudge factor that is supposed to address the disparity between competing engines' higher displacements, namely MB & BMW.

The 5.0 litre V8 in the LS600hL is detuned to make only 389hp to meet emissions goal, & yes the V12 like 438 hp equivalent is due to the electic motor.

here we go the right answer. they make it 5l engine but detune it to meet good emission, whereas the hybrid engine makes up the power
