Default Leather vs. plastic steering wheel

I just watched a Lexus LS 460 commercial from Britain. The steering wheel on the LS 460s there are all leather, which, to my mind, is much better.

I don't drive holding the side of the wheel, i.e., in the 3 and 9 position. I hold the top in the 2 and 10 position, which I think is how most people drive, based on my observations. And if you drive as I do, the new LS (and all Lexus cars except the IS) force you to hold a plasticy enclosed piece of wood. Leather feels much better on your hands while driving, and it would sure be my preference. Granted the wood looks better. But I'm more concerned about how it feels when I'm holding it.

It's all Individual taste!

I much prefer the feel of the wood on the steering wheel while driving.

Then again, I'd also prefer cloth seats to the leather seats.....

I like the look of the wood steering wheel.

However, I prefer the feel of a leather steering wheel.

It really doesn't matter in the end (my IS has leather, the LS has wood).

I typically drive with my thumb and forefinger pinching the wheel at 7 as I lean back balla' style. Some people have seen how I lean...

During the winter, I grab the steering wheel by the heated parts.

Wood or leather, it doesn't bother me either way wrt the feel or grip. Wood steering wheel looks better on a luxury car though.
