Nope... my car is Verdigris Mica and man it looks really nice in person. Here's a pic I took just now.

My first choice was Black Sapphire Pearl on Black, with Obsidian Black on Black a close second. I was faced with placing an order for the Sapphire for a unit that was still in Production in Japan, so I opted for the Black which had just landed on the Showroom floor. I'm glad with my choice as this large car has bold vertical surfaces that diminish its appearance as colours lighten up. Not unlike the slimming effect that dark clothing has on corpulent men or women.

I wonder when they will start taking high quality, hi res. pics of actual cars with each of the different colors that depict the real world appearances as close as possible & post them on the Lexus websites, so people building & configuring their cars on their websites can really get a good idea of how the cars in different colors will actually look like ??

I would like to know more about Obsidian. Does it has single state paint?

I personally want to order my LS460 Obsidian on Cashmere or Alasbaster.

If it is single stage paint then I would prefer Sapphire Black so can someone please confirm if obsidian has clear coat on.

Single stage is ancient history, but some folks like to think it's still around. Well it is for DIY painters or fly-by-night body shops, but not for OEMs, and reputable shops. Even Lexus' own touch-up pen is two stage. I know, I bought one.

Lexus Obsidian - the one I have - is black enamel with two coats of clearcoat. I don't know how many coats of black enamel there are, but it has to be more than two.

Love toasted almonds, but I've seen that paint color on a LS460L in person, & frankly it's the worst looking LS460 I have ever seen.

I think some HK people love them I've seen more gold color cars there than anywhere else since I was a kid, gold mercedes, RR, etc..
This gold paint on the LS460 is particularly unattractive, I've seen better versions on other cars, like the champagne gold on the Audi A8 I've seen in person actually is not bad at all.
