What are the following LS options: 1) Semi-aniline leather-trimmed interior, and 2) Lexus voice-activated Hard Disk Drive?

Does anyone have pictures of 1) above? The HDD indicated in question 2 above is not the 8GB hard disk audio drive. What devices are voice activated?

Thanks for some education on the Lexus line.

Edit: Oops! My bad. I didn't read the rest of the description of the hard disk drive option. It is the navigation system! Duh.

The semi-aniline leather is the premium leather that comes with the LS430 Ultra-lux package, but in black only.You can go to a Lexus dealer to look for a LS430 UL with black leather, that should give you an idea .

so the UL only comes in black interior? that's something i never paid attention on

No, only the UL with black interior has the semi-aniline leather, the UL with ecru is not semi-aniline leather. UL with black interior is actually a few hundred dollas more than UL with ecru because of that. The ecru leather on the UL is different from the ecru leather on a base LS430 though, they call it premium ecru leather . . .

As for the harddrive I think I've read somewhere that the navigation system on the New LS is harddrive-based. The amount of map data nowadays become so large that a DVD-ROM can hold it no more. If this is true, however, I wonder why Lexus can't somehow let the audio server share the same harddrive but decided to give it a separate 8GB HDD?

What does the PREMIUM leather have over the regular leather? Is it softer, or smoother or better looking, or more hand crafted or what? Can you notice the difference?

For the LS430, the premium leather is made from higher quality Nappa leather hides. It's also perforated with climate control that allows heated or cooled air to circulate through.

well maybe it's easier to control coz' they could be prepared by two different companies (ml and the company who does the nav setup)

yup i tried the high quality premium leather, it's indeed a lot softer, nice stuff

Sorry but the JDM IS & GS already have a 30GB HDD that stores BOTH map data for nav and songs for the ML.
