LS600h 4.6L or 5.0L??
Just got this message from Lexus via e-mail. What I find particularly puzzling is the talk of a 4.6L V8 in the LS600h. I am confused, as I thought we were sure there would be a 5.0L V8 mated to a hybrid electric motor????
Anyone have any insight? Here is the article:

Yup a mistake for sure. So 408hp from the 5.0L eh? Too close to the conservatively stated 430hp for comfort. I still believe the final total hp figure will be very close to my estimated 441hp hehe.

Magazines and reviewers get confused when working..
from press releases like this. The 600hL of course has the 5.0 liter V8 as reported on CL. It also is the only AWD LS variant. The 5.0 liter plus the electric motors will launch this luxmobile to 60 in under 5 seconds. It will not have a gas guzzler tax but will likely have an income tax credit. It will improve the air that you breathe...It even avoids pedestrians. It's a good citizen...

so the hybrid *only* adds like 20hp? come on

With a 405hp 5.0, the car will be quick even without the electric batteries.

Let see, so my predictions of the 400hp Lexus were not off at all. Give me a cookie.
Now lets see
4.6 liter they said "around" 380hp.
Now an additonal .4 liters only gets 30hp, to 405?
That makes no sense from an engineering standpoint for Lexus.
Then add electric batteries for 25 more hp, for 430?
Must be tuned for economy, not performance. I think the 5.0 V-8 is maybe a 18-22mpg engine so it will need efficient electric motors to stay above 20mpg, instead of more power.
I am sure this car could hit 450hp easy in one shape way or form.
Now the crazy thing is the LF-A, it will more than likely be a 5.0 liter engine but no way an engine in a race car could be in the LS. It could not be the same engine. Not sure will it be a V-10 or V-8 either, with F-1 moving to V-8s.
And clearly, this 5.0 is going in the IS-R or whatever. It must fit. Why not a GS 500???
