Default Perfomance & Handling?

There has been a lot of info on luxury specs, but little on performance and handling. Will the new Ls be competive in handling to the 7 series? The power will be there, but what about cornering, body lean, steering feel, etc. I am on the list for a SWB 460 with a euro suspension, but what size wheels will there be 19 or 20? I love the handling of the 750i but not the dependablity or pricing.

Would appreciate any info!

LS460 handling and performance will be comparable to the 7-Series, as the GS is to the 5-Series, and as the IS to the 3-Series.

In other words, Lexus handling is a little less driver enthusiastic than a BMW. It's good enough for the common daily driver, but not enticing enough for the driving entusiasts. Luxury supercedes performance/handling.

Are you planning on riding the LS hard, or are you planning on riding ithe LS plush? Depending on how you ride, you'll find one car will satisfy more than the other...

Default Handling

I am hoping that it will handle much better than the current car. The new Camry SE handles great, I test drove one. It is a vast improvement over the 06. I hope somone can get some info from Japan on specs. I have heard 19" tires on the Euro, hoping for 20's.

Maybe they will let one of the car mags have one to test drive real soon.

handling is something you gotta judge for yourself, i wouldnt trust mags to do it. A lot of them stick to their opinions without driving the car at all... which is why we can read how new Camry has both suprising handling from some mags while other says it is just an camry, soft with lots of lean :-).

personally i doubt the LS will be anything like the 7. i have driven the 7, it's a big *** car, but for its size and weight, i think it's outstanding in handling. it drives very small. bmw is very good on performance and handling, and they excel in ALL of their line, the 3, 5, and 7 series. lexus is quite far behind imho. and with the direction lexus is going, i don't think the LS will handle close to the 7.

maybe it makes more sense to compare lexus to mb, which doesn't have as good handling in their c, e, and s class
