Climate Control left side 4 buttons not working
These 4 Buttons aren't working on display 2008 LS460L I have tried 3 different units.
CLIMATE
AUDIO
DISPLAY

TEMP
4Zone
I fixed all the other problems I have experienced.
Does anyone know how to test the wires for these? or which wires or which fuses?
Thanks to everyone that helped get me this far.

Can you give a little history on the car? Is it all stock or does it have a multi media modification behind the Navi somewhere? Has it been in accidents? How long do you own it and how many miles?
🔍 Common Causes for Button Failure
- Faulty wiring harness: Especially the one connecting the Multi-Function Display (MFD) to the ECU.
- Blown fuses: Even one small fuse can disable multiple systems.
- Grounding issues: A poor ground can cause intermittent or total failure.
- CAN bus communication fault: These buttons rely on networked communication between modules.
- Check Fuses First
- Look in the driver-side fuse box and engine bay fuse box.
- Fuses to inspect:
- ECU-IG
- ACC
- RADIO No.1 / No.2
- A/C
- DISPLAY
- Use a multimeter or fuse tester to confirm continuity.
- Inspect Connectors
- Remove the center console trim and access the back of the display unit.
- Look for:
- Bent pins
- Corrosion
- Loose connectors
- Test Voltage and Ground
- With ignition ON, use a multimeter to check:
- 12V power at the connector
- Ground continuity to chassis
- If voltage is missing, trace the wire back to the fuse or junction block.
- With ignition ON, use a multimeter to check:
- CAN Bus Check
- These buttons often send signals via the CAN network.
- If you have access to a scan tool, check for communication errors between the display and other modules (A/C, Audio, etc.).
You might want to dig into the 2008 LS460 Owner’s Manual or a repair manual like the Lexus Techstream wiring diagrams for pinouts and wire colors.
💡 Pro Tip
Some users have found that disconnecting the battery for 10–15 minutes can reset the MFD and restore button functionality—especially if the issue is intermittent. Also, check for any aftermarket modifications that might be interfering with the system.
Hope that helps!
Edit: it look like somewone messed with your wiring as you state here:

I have all this on the list of stuff to check from AI as well.
I need to figure out what wires on harness to test signals. AI search didn't know what wires on what harness to test.
Does anyone know this?
Thanks
