I was curious if anyone could tell me what's up with my headlamps. They are 2013 triple beam LED (only 2 actually illuminate) but The left and right side are different color temperatures. Would anyone be able to tell me why this is or can I fix it without purchasing a new headlamp. If I purchase a new one I won't know the temperature until it turns on in person. One side must be 6000k and the other 5000k. Thoughts please its irking me. The lamps and led tubes are not the same color.
Those are drl's in the picture, passenger side is wearing out and the headlight assy has to be replaced to fix that but the drl's can be turned off with techstream or some type of dongle/app like carista.
The headlight in both assy's that isn't working is for infrared cameras for night vision which you don't have.
The actual leds beams match the respective side in color temps. So its more yellow high and low beam on the passenger side and vice versa on the drivers side.
How about a photo showing what you actually mean? I'm confused by your description. BTW, it's legal in most states to disable the DRLs. I did it with Carista to avoid them burning out, making the car harder to sell.
Hope this gives you a better idea. The colors are not them same when its illuminated. I was mainly wondering how to fix it. All those suggestions sounds plausible so I will start my trouble shooting tomorrow.
If you're buying aftermarket, no telling. Buying used or new OEM should be the correct temperature as long as you buy the exact year. No way to tell other than messaging the seller, if they answer, it'll give you the ability to return it if not correct. Another option is to look for manufacturer marking on right lamp and replace the left lamp with the same. Then sell the left lamp on eBay.
