Wrong Paint Code ??
Was looking at buying some paint to touch up a few spots on the boat and noticed the color code in the door jam is wrong, there's no way this car was painted after the fact as the sticker is over the original paint.
The paint code on the door is 6V0 which is Jade Green Metallic and my car is black haha has this happened to anyone before and what's the best way to find the correct paint code? decode the VIN?
PS this Lexus is imported from Japan 2007 LS600hl

RHD jap, made in 05.2007, color is 6V0.
This plate looks iffy as f. Danger of rhd jap imports is some of those are 2 (or even 3) cars welded together. Yes, that still happens.
Best case - repainted, not at the dealer, hopefully color change is reflected in title papers.
Worst case - see above.
Look at the T in TOYOTA. It's painted over. Ugh.

An electronic paint thickness meter will reveal if the car was repainted. You can buy them under $40 or just call an auto paint shop and ask if they will check multiple panels. Just trying to help solve the mystery and address your concern.
An American market car has a completely different sticker. It has a VIN number that matches the plate on the dash. Being a Japanese market car, the sticker may look and contain different info. I tried to search for an example but had no luck.
