Thoughts on buying this 2007 LS460 RWD? It has a clean title, has 3 accidents that are all minor, has been serviced at the dealer its whole life, has had the control arms and radiator replaced. It’s priced at $4995. I am willing to spend money on replacing the control arms and other any other services. I am going to check out this car over the weekend. Should I try negotiating the car? If so, what should I offer?
Because the front frame is part of an alignment, I'd have it inspected as well as the intake valley for coolant leak when you get the prepurchase inspection. If you're not aware, Lexus repair parts are very expensive with few aftermarket parts available. You could easily have a repair that approaches what you paid for the car. Besides valley plate leak, brake accumulator replacement is common repair. Otherwise you may have found a nice car.
Since the control arms and radiator have been replaced, the only other expensive repair is the starter motor. That seems like a really good price. You could offer $4500, but don't be surprised if they turn it down as the car will probably sell quickly.
Oh! it has the ultra rare "Comfort plus" package with leather stitched armrests vs the melting ones, rear reclining seats and soft door closers. I had a 2008 with it. I miss her
Can you do any mechanic work yourself of have someone that can help you with repairs? I was able to do nearly all my repair in my garage. If not things can be expensive to fix
Take a scanner or have a mechanic run a quick scan on it. There's a triangle on the dash and what seems to be the check engine light. Could be nothing major but check first.
But its not bad for 5k.
