Ls430 dayco timing kit
So i bought a 2003 Ls 430 7 months ago and absolutely love it.
i knew i had to do the timing belt water pump service shortly after i got it but didnt give much thought to which brand i buy and just bought the dayco kit from autozone then. The old timing belt was cracking and i thought any new kit is better than the old one. Although the waterpump pulled looked literally brand new (i kept it).
that was at 222k miles
its now a few months later at 228k miles and it hit me that I probably had done a grieve mistake putting possibly bad parts in such a crucial part of the car.
had anyone used the dayco timing belt kit (water pump and all the things) and if so whats your feedback.
is it very risky and preferred to switch to an oem kit asap; or can i wait till this kit had 60k miles or so on it?

Dayco makes a good timing belt (also drive belts) but the rest of the components are questionable. It depends on the kit and year I've seen some good idler/tensioner parts in their kits other times they were terrible. Honestly it is a risk running their water pump and pulleys.
