Differences between 2005-2006 LS
Good morning everyone, I hope you all have recovered from your Tryptophan overdose. So as I have been searching for an LS430, I have noted that many 2006 LS430s do not have ML sound system or Nav but all of 2005 I have seen have these options. Did Lexus have a base LS without these options. I know BMW did something like on their E90 328's they downgraded some equipment. I have looked at the LS430 wiki and don't see anything mentioned.,
Are there hidden features in the LS430 or can some features be coded into them like BMW? I don't have a list of features I'm looking for just asking questions here.
Besides the dealership who is a good resource for items for the LS, I have noticed that the cover around the nav screen on many of the cars I've seen is really scratched up, would like to replace that, also the buttons for Bluetooth seems to be another item that gets heavily scratched.
Is the AMP for the ML proprietary? Can the AMP be upgraded?

The amp is not upgradable and as mentioned in your other thread it may die, there are no changes in what you can spec into a 430 from 01-06 aside from pre-safe on the 04-06 and the updated 6 speed trans. Everything else is shared as far as options and there are no trim levels only items you can pick as groups. Most everyone opted for ML audio/nav but some cars exist that don't have nav or ML but are much less common (I have a total base model personally with only a sunroof). It seems you simply didn't yet find a 05 that lacks those options
