Concerns about catalytic converters
Hello all,
I'm a new member in this great forum
I decided to buy LS 430 and I found one with low mileage and in very good condition, so I took a friend of mine who claims to have a long experience with Lexus LS. After we tested the car everything was ok except the catalytic converters ( 2 pieces ) they were not there, my friend recommend to avoid it as it will have a gasoline smell while running which can be annoying and uncomfortable.
My question is, is that correct? and If I want to order them how much will cost me?
Sidenote: I live in the middle east so it might be kinda hard to find the CATs.
Best Regards,

If the cats have been cut out of the car I'd absolutely avoid it but I'm in the US. Not sure if it is common to significantly modify the emissions system overseas, but I'd want to know what error codes and warning lights, if any, are being masked and if any of the engine emissions sensors were removed or "faked" when the cat components were removed.
