Amistad - To the new style in which VIP's high-class feeling and profound feeling are inherited, and a luxury taste is also impressed.
please tell me the above it a poor translation of a japanese slogan. its tooo funny. not dissing the 'sig' but it reminds me of an old fashioned electronics owners manual.

ME TOO! I wonder if I can retrofit a 6spd auto out of a '05 LS into my '01? Other than that, there's not too many differences! IMHO
if i was too choose, i would go with the 04+ but having driven 04's and 05's all the time, i have too say it lacks the quality of previous generations by far. i have owned two 95 LS400s and never seen such quality in the new ones at all.
It's obvious which one I prefer.
Regarding headlights, I've had a number of folks fascinated by the automated aiming of the articulated headlights on the '04 when you first start it (in low-light conditions, obviously). People aren't used to seeing headlights move unless they're Tucker fans. LOL

According to Consumer Reports the 04 LS430 has more transmission and power equipment problems. Does anyone here agree??
I thought the recall a few years ago fixed the transmission issues. Are ppl still experiencing transmission problems after the fix? and what about the power equipment?
I may replace my 98 LS400 with a CPO 04 LS430 in a year or so. My 98 LS400 has over 130k and still has no problems. I feel guilty getting rid of a car in such a great shape. But I am curious just how reliable the 2004 LS430 is.

I have no power equipment issues, so far. But the car goes out of warranty next month which means I will start to have them...LOL.
the headlights are too big on the 04....too much into the fender....but the rear light on the other hand is a welcomed change....even the newer fog lights are better.....very hard to choose which i would take but....i guess i would stand by the one im about to buy soon....
I wish someone would post stock Pictures, I haven't figured out the different yet, If i remember the hood has a bigger bulge. I am now doing Maintainance on mine and I like the fact that you can still drain the transmission fluid the old way mine is a 03 loaded but no air ride. Even has heated rear seats and Laser cruise. Just put in HID in the fog lights this AM. Nice and Bright...........
