Default VSS/speed sensor and ebrake tap location?

Hey guys, trying to install an aftermarket head unit and need to tap into the speed sensor. I have a non-nav 03 and I've searched and searched and can't find where it's located, any help appreciated!

Also, the parking brake sensor wire location would be very helpful too!

I do not have wiring diagram specifically for the non-NAV LS430. But, I suspect all LS430 come with the same wiring harnesses regardless. Please look for the M4 connector behind where the Multi-display located (see location below)

Terminal 5 on M4 (SPD) is for the speed signal and, terminal 13 (PKB) is for the parking brake.

Thanks so much, I'll try to take actual pictures of the connectors and wires for future reference.

Found out the wiring harnesses are different between nav/non-nav. Easiest place to tap for VSS on a non-nav car is the violet-white wire on the harness that connects the instrument cluster. Pull bezel then pull cluster, there's only one harness plugged in there, C12.

Unhappy Also need help 2005 LS430 Code P0500

Took 2005 LS430 to dealer for P0500. They told me it was a $5000+ ABS Actuator. My BlueDriver says it is the vehicle speed sensor, under $20. Is this something a good DIYer can do or is replacing the speed sensor very difficult? Where is the vehicle speed sensor located? On the transmission driver side? Upper or lower?
Looked at many pictures online and am still confused.

Thank you in advance.

There are two but they both use the same part number.

Thank you much Bradland for the quick reply. Do you know if this is something a good DIYer is capable of doing, or is it a difficult job?

Replacing the sensor is extremely simple BUT there's very little room on the side of the Trans. Just enough room for a wrench or a medium-sized hand but not both...
I'd pull both and test them with a multimeter first before buying any replacements. You might only need one...

Very grateful. One last question. The scanner says it is the vehicle speed sensor "A" circuit. Does this tell you which sensor it is?

Thanks again

Attached are the troubleshooting procedure pages for P0500. Hope they're helpful.

Is there more room to work where the sensor is near the output shaft of the transmission than where the sensor is near the torque converter? If so, does it make sense to check the easier to reach sensor first...?

IIRC 0500 is associated with the rear, output shaft, sensor.
A 0717 code points at the forward, input sensor.
