MRR HR3's on LS 430 - rubbing issues
Ive posted this in the tire forum but got no responses... let's try here :)

From where you show rubbing, its your wheel diameter that's off, not so much width (when you go lower you might have rubbing issues too unless you run a negative camber from the looks of how your wheels sit at that offset)
To stay close to stock wheel diameter at those widths, I believe you should have gone with 245/35/20 in front, and 275/30/20 in the rear. From what I can see though, if you plan on dropping your car you might want to consider something a little narrower as well so theres less chance of rubbing, you'll definitely need a serious fender roll either way This site will help you to see how your new setup changes from the factory one, was helpful to me when I was trying to figure out offsets, tire size choices, etc.: https://www.willtheyfit.com/ |
Did you report it to the police? Hopefully they'll be able to catch whoever did it and get you your original wheels back!

Did you have to use spacers for the front to clear the calipers?
I may be going with the same wheels but with a square set up (not by choice, but availability). |
My thoughts:
What are the alignment specs? Any rubbing at the top of the fender well? No need for rear camber arms until you've gone to an aggressive fitment and the stock adjustments are maxed out. If you plan on lowering and depending how low, getting -2 to -3 neg camber will come naturally with the factory parts at about 2.25"drop. The 275/30 if you desire that width but you'll likely need to shave the fender well. For now, shave that bolt down, you don't want a hard compression to damage the tire any more. A stretch tire would be the 245/35 and that may not need any fender mods. |

If you do go with rolling the rears, make sure you the shop or person knows how to roll these fenders, there is a lot more work involved then a normal fender, my rears took my buddy 6 hours to roll properly, but you cant even tell they have been touched

I haven't been able to do anything with this problem yet, just have too much going on with the family, just no time to deal with it right now. Im not ignoring y'all, thank you guys for the advise, i will come back to it when things settle down a bit. Rolling on stock wheels for now.

I'll check the math when I get home tonight, but you may have too much offset. I run 275's on a 9 inch, and I'm almost 3" lowered. No rubbing ever. Fronts were a different story.
Camber should not have been affected if you're at stock height. You can add camber if you want to tuck them in. But really, they should fit with stock camber. |
Nevermind, I can do the math in my head. I have a 9" wheel with +30 offset. You have a 10" with +40. That puts you at 22mm more wheel towards the fender than me. That's about an inch. You need more like +10 or so offset.
I think most guys running 10's are at 0 offset, or even a negative offset now that I think about it. |
just got done talking to the CSR of the ebay store i bought the tires from...
they're recommending 275/30 in the rear and 245/35 in the front.... i can't return /exchange the current tires since they have been mounted... fu...... going to have to sell them and buy a whole new set... grrr.... I'm not even going to try calling the wheel seller to try to get a different offset for the rear, i'm pretty sure the answer will be same as the tire guy... so, if i buy the new set of tires, should i go narrower in the rear? i did plan on lowering the car later on a little bit, maybe 1.5in? |
