I've given this a lot fo thought too. Right now I'd be leaning towards a 2017 Genesis G80 5.0 Ultimate. Great power, solid refinement, modern tech and good reliability.

I'd replace it with the other 430 sitting in my garage now that only has 22k miles on it.

I have a feeling the car is going to last so long (at 113k now) that it won't even be a sedan anymore. Might be a Corvette Grand Sport 7 manual, or might even be a Ford Fiesta Titanium 5 speed--it's hard to tell what will happen 10 years from now!

(if a sedan though I would love to say S550 or A8L but doesn't seem realistic)

I think about this regularly as well, but the way I see it, I'm not replacing it unless it gets written off. I have an '04 Ultra in black/black, which is in my eyes the most desirable one. It doesn't have a spec of rust underneath, so it's not like it would rot out either. If the engine blows, I'd replace it with another 3UZ.

If the car did get written off though, I'd probably buy the nicest and cleanest LS I could find in the budget.

My 05 only has 45k on it, but when I have to change, it maybe a GS-F.

Default replacement for an ls 430

For sure it would be another LS maybe a 460. I have had such great service from the two I have owned. I got 432,000 miles form a 400 and have 340,00 on my 2001 430

To find something that rides as smoothly I’d likely find a GM 9-passenger station wagon and convert to a modern drivetrain(LS3 with a 6L80E). I test drove LS460’s, BMW 7-Series and the Cadillac CT6 & XTS but none could provide the ride comfort I was looking for. Any long wheelbase GM (wagon or Cadillac) would work but it would be more expensive than finding another LS430. The current market doesn’t cater to people that “require” a soft suspension to avoid pain while driving. Maybe the redesigned Kia K900 or Genesis G90 but I haven’t test drove one.

I would probably get another LS430 or a late 2000’s Toyota Crown Athlete.

A car I would love to have would be a W140 or W126 S Class Mercedes if I could find one like new with low miles. I’d accept those.

Unfortunately most of us are already spoiled owning our reliable Luxo barge. Actually I cannot think of a suitable replacement and the thought of buying a newer high end car and dealing with depreciation makes me cringe. Luckily I do not have to make this decision at this moment. Hopefully it wont’t be for a long time.

If I didn't buy a 460, I'd probably get a Genesis G90. Depreciation on those is looking good for those of us in the used market.

When I no longer have my 2005 LS430, I think I would get a sport package (with the black grille) 2012 LS460 with the 19" rims and matte luster on the interior instead of the gloss finish. Here's 2 examples of LS's that I'd consider...

Either the above, or a 2019 Cadillac CT-6, or CT-6V, or an XTS? Ohhhhh Jesus, what the heck are the subtle differences between all those models!?!?!?!?!?!? I do know ONE thing related to Cadillac's flagship(s).....they will list for $74,999 and a year old they can be had for about $34k, lmao.

Here's a couple pics of 2019 Caddy's I'd consider....

Last but not least, I WOULD consider a 2014 LS460....similar to something below...

Decisions, decisions!
