Default Sell Scion TC to buy LS?

This is my current dilemma, I have a 2014 Scion TC monogram that I paid 23k new for. It has 28k miles on it currently. I have spent $1500 in sound deadening and $2000 in speakers and amps.

I can only have one vehicle. I can remove all the deadening and audio gear to put it back to stock for private sale.

I probably can get $13k to 16k for it privately and pay $4000 to $7000 for a base LS.

The only negative I can see is fuel consumption and repair cost due to high mileage and age.

I want the quietist car I can get for car audio and comfort.

If you had the choice what would you do?

are you handy with mechanical at all? if so, repair costs will be lower. there is so much information here you can find info on just about any repair needed.

i have a Volvo S40 with half the mileage that the LS430 has, but i prefer to drive the LS430 b/c of the comfort.

My situation is similar. My trusty Prius has 325 K on it, I'm ready for more comfort and quiet. My wife has been bugging me to sell the Prius since I bought the LS. I'm going to hang on to Prius for the short term anyway. My LS is still awaiting delivery (grrrr) once I get it and have it fully sorted the Prius MAY go up for sale. I don't need to sell it tho, and it is not worth much. Can you swing buying the LS and then selling the Scion at your leisure? It will be easier to make good decisions unless two cars create issues for you space or money wise.

Ricklin, similar situation here. the Volvo was actually given to me from my old boss. he took great care of it, and it is in great shape. we don't really need the vehicle, but it's paid for and liability insurance isn't much since it's a 4th vehicle. so my wife said we may as well keep it, lol.

i was thinking about selling it just to have some extra cash. but it's really worth nothing retail. so it's actually more valuable to us as a spare. i finally got my wife to start driving it since she is driving to VA from near BWI for work now.

I can have both for a few months probably. I feel like running it into the ground due to having only 28k miles and the depreciation since I bought brand new. I probably lost 8k already sadly.

My other option would be to finish deadening the car and eventually get some pirelli cinturato p7s on them.

I currently have a full exhaust and lowering springs installed on it. The road and wind noise at cruising speed cancels the exhaust out usually.

I feel like I am in diminishing terms status to get more quiet haha

If I don't go LS these are my plans:

Stiffer exhaust mounts to reduce nvh $40
Finish deadening car $500

I think you're just bored of your car that's the issue, if i may suggest, get the LS as second car.

I would keep the current vehicle, unless you "need" an LS. imho there are transition costs both ways, you'll get less than the Tc is worth, and you'll pay more than the LS is worth, unless you are in the car business...I don't think I would want to go from a '14 to a '06. my .02

Keep both, TC as the city/commuting car and the LS for travel and formal events and such.

also, if you do get an LS, look for one without the Navi & ML system. i wanted to swap mine out, but i have been advised it is very hard to do that. to the point that i was told it would be wasier to sell my car & buy a car without nav & ML stereo.
