Default 2004 - Driver door locking problems

I took my LS430 to a mechanic to change the driver side rearview mirror. When I got the car back, I found I was no longer able to lock the driver side door using the remote. If I hit the LOCK button, all doors except the driver door lock normally, but the headlights and taillights don't flash once as usual. To close up the car and lock it, I have to first lock the driver side door using the physical key, and then hit the remote button to lock the rest and make the head- and taillights flash once. Once the car is locked, the remote CAN be used to unlock it normally, including the driver door. IS IT POSSIBLE that my mechanic damaged one of the actuators when he changed the sideview mirror?

Sure, it's possible. However, since the remote still unlocks the car, it seems unlikely that the mechanic damaged/left disconnected anything related to the lock when he had the interior panel off the door to work on the mirror.

Having yet to experience a bad actuator (knock, knock), perhaps others will describe the symptom(s) when one goes bad.
