Default New mod/roof spoiler needs repair

I just got my new mod from Romanova great seller by the way, great communication, shipping speed was super fast, very upfront and trust worthy guy highly recommended fellow members check out his for sale threads.

Anyways got his roof spoiler that he ordered from Japan that needs so me love has minor chip and scratches easy stuff to fix. I will be posting steps and updates on the entire process from paint to install.

Look at that packing job Kobe Bryant couldnt get in that lol

Did some sanding, bondo and glazing putty. Tomorrow I am going to scuff up the rest of the spoiler and paint it.

Today is paint day should I primer it or should I just spray over thoughts opinions? Also should I install with 3m window weld or double sided tape.

Glue that beezy on! you don't want that to fly off on the freeway!

Some of that 3M double sided adhesive 'tape' stuff is craaaaaazy strong. My dash cam came with some of this stuff to mount a plate to the inside of the windshield which the camera itself docks to... it was ridiculously and painfully difficult to remove it from my car to move the camera from my semi truck. The stuff I'm talking about is thicker than regular tape... like 1/8th or 1/16th inch thick or so and kind of feels like a thin layer of foam. It's pliable and squishy so it bonds to slightly uneven/curved surfaces really well.

Thank you and yah the paint they put on the spoiler is just chipping off in chunks. I might end up having to strip the entire spoiler down to its base then bondo prime sand glaze repeat till its perfect lol. It should be painted and installed by the end of the week.

I do not know I am very curious myself honestly I could not find a color match spray can for our silver. I just tried to color match it the best I can. I am going to let the spoiler sit in some heat for a few days to cure everything and just make sure the paints totally dry. Soon as the paints dry I will install and take pics to match them up. Just by eyeballing it it looks close but not exact, if you were not looking for it you wouldn't know.

Thanks the body work is not the best honestly but I plan on getting the car repainted at some point in time. I am also thinking about possibly doing a custom fiberglass lip kit this winter.

Good info and I hope the rest of the install goes smoothly!

I do like that spoiler.

ON a side note, I saw a GS430 this morning on the freeway that had those vortex generators on the roof just fwd of the rear window (like the Lancer) I thought it looked ok, but not so sure they would look good on the S.S. Lexus...

I have thought about it I have been on the hunt for one that would be the same size as our roof a subaru legacy maybe? I am just curious if another car is built on the same chassis as the ls430, wondering if a lip kit from another car would fit with some heat gun massaging.

The vortex generator would look cool prolly if I had the lip kit all done. Would make a mundane car more look agressive.
