Default My New To Me '01 with sport suspension.

Just brought her home after I sold my '98 LS400. Needs some love and I'll give it to her. The ride is night and day and I understand why folks have made the change. 140k all services completed by the previous owner himself. It's a beautiful thing indeed.👑👏

Congrats! Mine also has chrome wheels, which are growing on me. I do wish I have sport suspension.

Nice car and congrats on the upgrade. Some really like the move to the 430 and some prefer the LS400. Sounds like you're happy with the step up.

Good find. Congrats and you'll love the sport suspension. You might consider doing an LED update to the rear lights. Really freshens it up.

Congrats on the purchase! How many miles does it have? And did you specifically seek out a sport suspension model? If so, did you test drive stock suspension as well as sport?

Thanks. She has 140k and no I wasn't intentionally buying a car with this package. Matter of fact, she was the 1st 430 I saw and test drove. I knew she was the one. I didn't know until I went to see the car and started checking her out. I thought it was just a regular 430. I know that she wasn't a UL that's what really mattered to me when looking. 😊

Oh definitely. There's no getting around the fact that this car is a barge.

To me, there was a little more than a mild difference, but I guess it depends on how you drive the car. I test drove many LS's with standard, sport, and air suspensions. The standard was far too 'wallowy' when it came to anything approaching 'spirited' driving. If you drive conservatively all the time, I definitely understand not noticing a whole lot of difference between standard and sport. I don't drive my car like a race car or anything, but I do enjoy driving at a brisk pace down a curvy country road or taking a freeway ramp a little quickly. I felt like I was about to bottom out the suspension on one side when taking a freeway on-ramp at speed in the standard suspension, and I got a lot nosedive under braking. The standard suspension also felt like it would be upset way too easily during a high speed emergency evasive maneuver, which I didn't like. I also sprang for the sport suspension when buying my '04 since they came with tires 20mm wider than all other LS models, and more overall traction is definitely something I like - especially during panic braking situations.

What year are your LSs? Depending on the year models you have, you might also notice less of a difference since the '04-'06 models came with slightly re-worked suspension vs the '01-'03 models. My '01 with sport suspension drove just barely different than an '05 with standard suspension because of the changes made.
