Default Michelin Premier A/S Longevity

There's been several threads raising concern about how long the Premier A/S will last due to tread wear. I recently replaced my Premier A/S tires since they wore down to the wear bar and with the prorated amount, I got a great deal at Costco. I rotated/balanced them every 5k per Costco's recommendation.

Installed: 7/14/2015
Installed Mileage: 74762

Replaced: 6/21/2018
Replaced mileage: 113824

TImeframe: Almost 3 years
Total mileage on original Premier A/S: 39,062

I'm curious on other folk's experience who've replaced their first set of Premier A/S tires.

appears to be very shotlived. But it does not say anything about the driving style, road conditions
Did you get any price adjustment? Here Costco advertises the Michelins with over 100k miles durability.
Check the specs at TireRack

For what it's worth, I only got about 40,000 miles and 3 years out of my Bridgestone Potenza RE97AS tires, but they were the wider and larger diameter 245/45/18 tire size and were W speed rated (168 mph). I also just bought a set of Michelin Premier AS tires (same larger size as the Potenza's) at Costco about 2 months ago and took advantage of a Michelin tire sale good for $70 off when purchasing 4 tires, as well as a special for $1 mount/balance per tire vs their usual $15 per tire for mount/balance.. total ~$900 out the door. Purchasing the same tires from TireRack would have cost me about $1250 with shipping, plus another $60-$80 for mount/balance at a local tire shop.

Again, my concern with the Premier, which my wife has, is the physical appearance. Slivers falling off, holes in the tread, I mean I think this tire is made of sunflowers and the rubber is very soft.

It starts out at 8.5/32 so it's already lacking 2.5/32 from the get go. This was enough for the GM dealer to recommend replacement soon, when they only have like 24k (multipoint inspection).

What someone here suggested that makes sense, is that they have a 60k warranty, so if they wear out prematurely and have been rotated, then go with the warranty.

My buddy who is on his 2nd set said he did get 60k on his but they looked very worn. Here's a pic of my wife's from almost 2 weeks ago. I pulled a screw out of one when we were down in VA, but no leak. You can see the indentation from the screw head.

While I like the quiet ride, my 2 year old (maybe 15k) expensive Michelins are starting to flat spot if I let the car sit. Didn't drive for 10 days. When I started out, the car jerked moved up and down for 100 yds then rode smoothly.

Driving style: Assertive
Road conditions: So. Florida with a mix of city/highway
Price adjustment: Yes, Costco took $350 off for the remaining life of the tires (about 20,000 miles)

Costco was or is doing $70 + $60 off on Michelin, kind of hard to beat. We can drive to DE and no tax (Supreme Court whatever, not like they have any authority or anything)...me I still plan on Pilot Sport A/S 3+ or whatever is current when I need tires. I would be willing to sacrifice a little longevity if I got some performance back (a little), and the tire didn't look shredded in the 20's like the Premiers do (buddy says same)

I love the Michelin Premiers ride, quietness and handling especially in wet conditions. Even if I get only 40k miles out of mine I will be very happy with the tires and would buy them again. But I'll also be sure to make a warranty claim with Costco if they don't achieve warranty mileage.

Just make sure any tires are regularly balanced and rotated for max life. Also to make a warranty claim you will almost certainly be required to prove the tires were rotated per manufacturer/vendor recommendation.
