Default LS430 2003 SatNav problem

Hello All. Have just acquired a 2003 to replace my 2002 model. Just on 98000 miles so relatively low milage for it's age. There is no record of Timing Belt change so have taken care of that.
However the SatNav dial displayed the massage to insert a disc. There was a disc along with all the documents and I duly inserted it.
The unit still would not function, although the disc was in place it still asked for one to be inserted.

At this stage I assumed a problem with the satnav computer. Since I still had access to my previous car I just swapped the computer along with the original Series one disc. Hey Presto this seemed to do the trick. The map and destination functions all responded and during initial journeys the maps were displayed as expected.

But, when I Accessed Destination and selected Home it began to give an incorrect guidance. Now the position arrow seems stuck as I drive. When I got home I again checked the indicators for HOME and was informed I had 37 miles to go, even though I was in my driveway.

Has anybody out there experienced this. Can somebody tell me what is happening. Can anybody suggest a 'fix'.

Thank you in anticipation. AlRose
