They probably aren't lying. It's very possible. I work at a Lexus dealership and the bigger dealerships with heavy competition will actually do deals like that on left over stock of cars like LS460's and GS-F's. We sold a 2017 LX570 a few months ago for $78k. The car retailed at $95,000. The 2018 models went for near sticker prices.

In places like Texas and southern California, I have heard of crazy deals like that from massive dealerships. We can't match crazy prices like that. It's hard to pull that off at the smaller dealerships.

what people claim on a forum honestly doesn't count for much, everyone likes to claim they got a killer deal. But I simply don't believe any Lexus dealership is discounting a current model year, non demo car by 20% off MSRP on a purchase basis. Leave out the games with leasing, RVs, loans, etc. Just a simple purchase.

Live in your own world GSF and RCF haven’t been able to moved Lexus has $7,000 cash rebate on all on top of negotiation Driving rebate $7,000 Anyways no need to argue with you Since you are deeming us fake news even when we provided proof Have a good day

I'm not in the market, but BMW would routinely do $12k for having a pulse, on the 7 series (many say so what the car is 6 figures).

When I was in for service, however, I'd see on a whiteboard, 3 series CPOs for $12k off, and the car was only $54k list, and 2-3k miles. In my mind, I thought, dang that's good for only 2-3k miles, $12k off a 3 series? This was in late 2013 so who knows what's changed. So on a 6 figure car, 20k sounds feasible. I mean my dad bought a GM car for $31k, about $8k off list? The list is inflated. Brand new.

One really can't say unless we try. Because my feeling is if you don't think we can give 20k off, you might think 10k is good, so you get 10k, and left another 10k on the table....I the dealership always win. Just to what extent is the variable...

nope, those rebates don't exist. Look at the Lexus website, it's quite clear on the available rebates, by zip code, by model, by year. Best I could find was a 6k rebate on the RC F and 8k on the LS, prior year only, with exclusions, or 0% financing, 750 bucks for a college kid.

so again, I simply don't believe anyone is getting 20% off MSRP on a current year, non demo car, purchase basis. I will happily eat crow if someone can post up their detailed invoice, but just claiming it based on a forum poster isn't credible.

My parents still have the window sticker from their 2005 they got at a Land Rover dealer as a 1-owner trade. It has the ML package and 18" OEM chrome wheels, I think it was $63K back then. Looks like it was bought at Coliseum Lexus in Oakland originally.

Again I have to think 10k off by 2006, based on going to an event in July 2005 where nobody was interested in the LS430, literally nobody (lines to drive every car except the LS, ridiculous line to drive the E90 330i which was brand new at the time and I think this backfired for Lexus where you want the competitor's car to fall short of yours), and a guy in a YouTube saying his mom's 2006 with ML was purchased new in the low to mid 50's by his parents....there are probably not enough original owners to be able to say what they paid. It's not something you forget.

all new cars: I got $6700 off my Maxima in 1998 which listed for $29,400. We got $4300 off my wife's SUV in 2011 which listed for $46,200. I got $1,700 off my BMW in 10/06 which listed for $46,400 (some paid list as E92s were not in stock at that time). My wife's list and the BMW list could be off by $100-$500, but my Maxima is exact.

If I recall correctly, the window sticker said my '02 was around $56,000 brand new.

I paid $62270.47 (ouch!!) for my '03 UL when I bought it new in late '02. It's worth, what, maybe $8K now?! Don't have the window sticker anymore. Still drives like new and never ever had any expense other than maintenance and a couple fender-bender fixups at the body shop. It's been the most reliable car I ever owned.

Thank you for being directly on point, campisi. There's been as much speculation here as on the cable news channels!
