Need to paint bumper on my LS 430

To get a descent job the bumper must be removed. Otherwise ......don’t expect too much.

I'm in process of finding a body shop. My front lip and side skirt are cracked and there's some damage to bumper. Going to a shop I've used before. They used to use ppg paint and switched to axalta. But over phone quoted me 550 cash. I have to meet the owner in person and settle the deal. I'd be happy with 550, less than half other shops have quoted and I know he does good work.

OEM primed bumper
I wondering if it would be cheaper to buy a new OEM primed bumper and have it painted and installed?

Prices vary greatly when it comes to repainting and also doing some repair work/prep work on bumper covers. I was quoted by 2 new car dealerships (one was lexus) to repaint both front and rear bumpers $1500. Yes, some prep work and refinishing was required to both front and rear. I thought it was excessive as they were using the original bumper covers. I ended up getting it done by an authorized Infiniti body shop which I have used for years for $750 for front and back and I supplied the chrome trim (purchased from Rock Auto). It was a beautiful job, although was not absolutely a color match from bumper to fender, but that also shows with cars from the factory. I like the job so much, I'm even considering getting a clear bra for my front bumper to keep the paint chips to a minimum. Right now I only have a very few extremely tiny chips that are not even noticeable. Not sure if I want to go this route as sometimes the Suntek film changes the color of the paint when applied. It does keep the bumper looking new though.
