interesting about our 12v lighter in ash tray
I've always wondered why the fuse blows, mine came blown, and it recently blew and got replaced.
I decided to keep it covered when not in use--come to find, that no plastic 12V cap fits snugly. Not from a BMW, not from a Nissan, not from a new Nissan. All are loose and jiggle. Then, I went back to the Lexus lighter (don't smoke so who really pays attention to it?), and it is loose as well. Not sure if bad design or what, maybe year or production month, who knows.
Anyway my theory is something is dropped in there to short it out, my wife concedes maybe she tosses the smart key in the ash tray and the key falls in....well, I've got plenty of spare fuses now for next time...thanks Wal-Mart!
