Factory underhood connectors
Okay so i've done some work under the hood of my LS, and started doing the valve cover gaskets today. And of course so much of the stuff under the hood is brittle from years of getting hot under the hood of the car. Wire wrap on a lot of stuff just falls apart when you touch it and probably half of the connectors I touched today broke. The part you press to release the connector just snaps. So I have a few broken connectors now. Are these all available from the dealer? I need to look into a pin removal tool so I can reuse the wiring and connectors and just replace the plastic plug part. I've looked a bit online a connector the first time I was under the hood. Everything is just brittle. Wish I didn't have to touch any of it! Now I have to fix them all haha

You may find the attached "part list" useful. Many of the 3rd-party replacement connectors are available on Amazon, and most OEM connectors can be found on eBay.

There are some that attribute the deterioration of those parts due to the engine covers that most of the items you listed are subjected to the heat the covers trap. I had thought about removing the covers after my mechanic replaced all of those parts but hard to give up that clean look......

First thing I do is remove the silly plastic engine cover....I have two of them up in the attic, one for LS and one for SC stored in a plastic bag.

Yeah. I finished up the passenger side valve cover gasket and started on the drivers side today. I ended up pulling the wires out of one of my injector plugs. UGH! Broke another connector or two as well. They just snap when you squeeze them. Also almost all the vacuum hoses are hard and cracking too. Fortunately I did order a new pcv valve and grommet and pcv vacuum hose. mine were rock hard and brittle as well. Spark plug tube seals were rock hard and brittle. Valve cover gaskets were hard, brittle and smashed. Most of the nuts were easily loosened by hand. I figured out how to disasemble the injector plug and can probably get it working until I order some new connectors and terminals. I also cleaned my dirty *** throttle body. This thing better run even better when I'm done! lol. geez.

On my 2006 LS the wire looms, plastics and connectors look great but it has alwasy been garaged since new. On my 2004 SC the same parts are clearly showing signs of age and becoming brittle. It was garaged intermittently but was also parked outside quite a bit in a previous life plus it is 2 years older than the LS. I'm thinking that as these cars age the various engine bay looms, plastics and connectors will require attention and ongoing maintenance to maintain the car's outstanding reliability.

Yeah I figure know I will learn how to re-pin OEM plugs and whatnot. Re-wrap some of the wiring and just tidy up the engine bay.
On a side note, anyone has wiring diagrams for the fuel injectors since I need to rewire a plug now?

Awesome, I'll save that to my LS430 folder too. Do you have one that has the injectors on it? I looked around online and found a couple. Looks they are all two wires with one being black and then a colored/striped wire. So I should be able to see the pattern if I look at the other injectors.
