Question What other Lexus/Toyota vehicles' rims fit LS430?

I recently saw a thread asking what other rims fit our cars, but nothing about other Lexus vehicles - such as GS or ES, etc.

I saw on ebay a set of GS350 ((2006-07) wheels. The diameter, lug pattern, width, and offset all matched my 04 LS430 - 7.5JJx17 ET45.

So, hopefully, we can have a thread that specifies what other LEXUS (or even other Toyota) vehicles' rims would fit our cars.

Found above searching gs350 wheel and es350 wheel in this forum. Tons of others as well if these don't answer your question.

This is key..... ET45 is > 42

From memory, the bolt pattern is quite common 114.3

What I've never understood is I caught the warning that a 42 or greater offset is needed, yet websites let one load a cart with wheels that have only 35 or 40? Maybe with the assumption there is going to be spacers or shaving?

Maybe this helps....

the wheels you buy will need to fit over the LARGE front brake calipers. Many wheels, especially 16" and 17" don't clear the front calipers. And the wheel's spoke design can also cause issues if the spokes hit the caliper too. Wheel width and offsets are also need to be considered to get wheels onto the car.... .

42mm offset or greater, which is not common in the aftermarket, no need for guessing.... peace out.

edit it is pretty curious why the calipers were designed the way they were, say you wanted rims for a A8L 4.0T. Plenty of rims with a 30mm offset are fine and it too has fixed calipers. I doubt Toyota motors had an oversight.....or maybe sumitomo said these were the cheaper calipers we can OEM for you back in 2000...

p.s. fitting a '17 460 F sport online, rims have as little as a 26mm offset, 29mm, so this is a LS430 thing

Okay, so I think I've decided to use the 2006 IS350 18" wheels to replace my stock 17's.

They are staggered - so, is that an issue with handling of my '04 430? My main concern is about "balance" and not "meat on the pavement".

The tread width is 8.5" on the front, and 9.1" on the rear - a full 1.5" difference on the rear.

Thank you...

Staggered rims, not tires, right? imho if you mean width, the wider rims belong in the back, as long as the fronts are 42+ offset..... I think the LS430 situation is unique as the front calipers is an issue....

As a general rule, having wider tires in the rears introduces more understeer, which for most is undesirable. They say when this setup comes from the factory, it DOES NOT introduce more understeer, but the reason for larger tires in the rear is grip, with the assumption being the rears are the drive wheels. From my own observation on a RWD car with staggered tires, the rear tires wear faster than the fronts (go figure).

I was once shipped in error aftermarket rims for my Maxima with two offsets, and I happened to notice by eye while at the gym. A guy goes, what's wrong? I said dang I think my offsets are different. He looked at me like I had three heads, they look nice to me? I had a larger offset on the front than rear, and sure enough, I check the order, and there are two different rims, same 8" width, but two offsets. The online etailer panicked and said please send them back for a full refund. I didn't want to do that, so I said can I put the larger offsets in the rear, and keep them? Now this is a FWD car....they checked with the techs and said that's fine and we'll give you $50 for your inconvenience.....

edit for kicks I searched for wheels on a 1998 Lincoln town car--common sense says these cars have deep dish rims. Two rims came back, both had 0 offsets, implying that the face of the rim is centered through the width of the rim...I'd be curious what cars today use 0 or negative offsets

edit 2 one last thing about the diagram below, I think it is unrealistic in how it depicts the spokes in the positive pic, meaning, the greater the positive offset, the more the spokes of the rim will be straighter and lack depth when viewed from the outside. I think in reality? For style? Less offset is better for looks, but we can't do that with the LS430. This was a FWD thing, so I'm not sure why most RWD cars still have positive offsets today, unless the mfg wants the stance narrower and tucked in....interestingly, searching for rims for Porsche, they have huge offsets, 50......
