I would suggest to go with a new Denso “towing” model radiator, part # 221-4100. This model is 1" thick (as compared to the original 5/8"). It fits perfectly and costs around $70.

I had no idea there were factory fit replacements that are thicker for towing. That's awesome!

Since the original lists for $441.60 (16400-50251), and rock sells the Denso for $61.79, are they the same quality? The Denso does have a 12 mo. warranty. It seems harder to identify the genuine vs. OE/OEM in the Japanese world (where the part is identical less the mfg. logo on it). Is this a case similar to the Aisin timing belt kit vs. genuine? In the GM world, there's good/better/best, where they call it advantage, professional, OE, when it comes to AC Delco...

because it's nearly impossible to get free shipping on genuine Lexus rotors, I've already decided to go Centrics on the rears ($40 shipped vs. $91 plus shipping)....the centrics claim to be coated to resist 400 hours of salt water exposure....

If im not mistaken Aisin *is* the OEM provider for everything timing belts for LS 430's (among other Toyota models). In the same light Denso is most likely OEM for our radiators as well.

The rockauto Denso is not quite the same quality as the oem one. The plastic tanks are a different material that feels slightly thinner and cheaper. That being said I put the rockauto Denso towing model in my car and would not hesitate to get another one. I still have my oem one as a backup as it had no issues when I replaced it.

I've been looking at my temp gauge...the needle has been in the exact same spot since I got the car last Oct. The timing belt/water pump job they did not replace the thermostat because they said no need....it really has a very long long way to go to reach red. Not sure what the marks represent degree wise, but it would make me uncomfortable to see it up there...

That's good info, I had the same feeling about one I got on amazon when I took the Calsonic out of the Maxima, but then again as long as it's quality imho many things cannot be OE/genuine quality once replaced due to cost....another example very few reasonable sources for OE brake rotors, and none with free shipping (of course they are heavy)....so what does one do, $40 vs. $121, when the $40 claims to withstand 400 hours of salt water without rusting....
