I hope this helps but the notoroius whine sound on my car turned out to be the bearings in my alternator pulley. Had them replaced when I had mine rebuilt. The guy that rebuilt it spun the pulley and thought thats what I wanted done before I told him that the alternator quit.

On mines it was the accessory pulley. Bought a new power steering pump for nothing.
