I don't have anywhere to put it if I bought it back nor do I have the time to deal with it unfortunately. I doubt I could reuse anything from the rear seat except for literally the leather. The seat structure is bent up from the accident. Same with front seats. It's also looking like I won't be replacing it soon so by the time I do, I may end up in a newer 460.

I almost pulled the trigger on an LS460 when my LS430 got totaled as well. I was only to willing to pay for a 2007 - 2009 though.I ended up finding a pretty solid LS430 locally for just a little out of my pocket. I decided to go that route for now so I could wait another year or two for the 2010 - 2012 LS460, which have most of the bugs worked out, to drop into my price range. That also gives me more time to save up so I would only have a minimal payment.

Nothing wrong with moving to a LS460. However, you'll have to go to a 2013+ to get the Flaxen interior which is similar to the saddle you had.

You can't buy the wreck back from the insurance company?
Seems like such a nice interior, in Australia these are difficult to find.

Glad to hear you're OK.

They are not easy to find in the US either.

Holy ***** that hit looks terrible! As the others said, so glad that you're ok!

There's some good suggestions on the thread, such as monitoring everyone's health very closely. It's also "funny" reading other comments such as a request for the cup holder, lol.

This is like a "stop and stare" thread. Similar to everyone else, I simply gazed and stared at those pictures very closely. It's amazing to see the parts/pieces of the vehicle never normally seen during routine maintenance or everyday driving!

On a much more sobering note, how many of you recall the Bruce Jenner accident that resulted in a fatality!?
How many of you knew the fatality was the driver of a 04-06 LS430!?

I was amazed when I viewed the pictures. While the fatality wasn't caused by the initial rear-ending (pun?) of Bruce into the LS430, the 430 then was subsequently pushed into the path of a Hummer, and it was a pretty brutal head-on hit. You can see THE ACTUAL pictures on the link, and you can see the woman driver in the LS has her seatbelt on!!! Not sure if any threads were created here on CL, but the fatality was in the 04-06 LS430!

Again, glad you're OK. Here's the Bruce Jenner crash pics... http://www.nydailynews.com/entertain...lide=1.2107367

Did the insurance give you a number yet?

I've softened my position on them, meaning I don't think they're great looking cars, but would totally admit they don't really look dated like our LS430s. Plus there is a L version....I'd want to know if there's any additional maintenance needed due to direct injection, like with BMW and Audi. That's why for the 430 I'm glad it lacks DI....but I do wish it had a timing chain...

Right now after condition adjustments, taxes, etc... their first offer was $12k almost to the dollar. Not bad, but I'm trying for a little more simply because it's nearly impossible to find another one like it.

Better than I expected. How many miles where on your car?

I was right at 120k. I had it for almost exactly 3 years and put 40k miles on it.

Defiantly sounds like a good return. Is that before or after the deductible? Even with $12k you should be able to go find another decent LS430. If you can squeeze a little more, even better.

Before deductible. As long as the uninsured is officially approved, it will only be 250 less.

Sounds like mine would have been similar to yours with the adjustments. I got $10,750 before deductible but I had 134k miles and my rear bumper had a small whole that needed repair, approximately $1k fix because the bumper cover would have had to be replaced.. So, adjust for the bumper fix and the higher miles and it would have been close to the same.

Uninsured? Did they find out who hit you?

People look surprised when I say that my Cypress Pearl 430 is a 2004. I think I like the word "timeless" or "classic" better than "dated". Yeah a 460 looks great but let's keep that a secret when talking to a non "LS person".
