Default Back in the fold / New to me 06

Hi everyone -

I had sold my 05 with 140k last May and I bought a demo 16 Accord Touring. I wanted something that had a warranty, was sporty along with the latest tech. I really liked it, but I've regretted the decision. I like how the Accord handled, power was solid - but it's such a rough and loud car in comparison. Soo.. my wife's car was getting up there and she agreed to assume the Accord (she's a great lady) when I found the right LS430. After looking for several weeks, I lucked out with an 06 in my area with only 59k on the clock. It's a non-nav, non-ML, non-smart access car, but it does have parking sensors (oddly). I was looking for a non-nav car so I could put in my own system, but I would have like to find one with the smart access system. Low miles trumped the key, so after driving it multiple times, pouring over the maint. history, I bought it yesterday.

It's nice to be back!

That's a beauty and a real find. Only 5K miles a year is rare indeed and that car should last you a long, long time.
Congrats and welcome back.

Thanks everyone!

I'll check for the smart access button later and report back - the dash does have the light though. I paid 13k in Fairfax, VA.

That's my favorite color combo....congrats!

edit: p.s. looks like you're missing the rear left door cap....I am missing two of them and have hesitated on ordering replacements....they're almost $30 ea discount....

p.p.s. this is my rear right cap....you would look for yours and match up the paint code...in my case moonlight pearl is 072......

I thought that the car wash knocked two of them off my car, until I saw a pic of my car before I even bought it, and one was already gone! They probably knocked off 1, the driver key hole....I mentioned it the next time I was there, and the owner was so nice he gave me a $50 gift card for the trouble....

Great price and great color combo (same as my 01)....I would have jumped on it if it had Nav. Good luck. You got a winner!!! Enjoy.

Hi -

I just bought the replacement part for this. Can you steer more towards a guide to show mw how to take of the old one so I can put the new one on?

Thanks!

This is the thread that I had found, so I knew I wasn't the only one or it wasn't just my car.....

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-...rt-number.html

I've never bought them yet--what do the backsides of the caps look like? I assumed they have a pin that goes into the hole in the door handle...

this doesn't show the underside but gave me an idea on how big they are....

edit I found the instructions to install the aftermarket chrome set. Apparently there is 3M tape inside? Maybe I should buy the set for $40 as it's a 10 piece set, but chrome.....

Great find! Best color combo IMO. I probably would have jumped on it as well but to me the non-Nav would have almost been a deal breaker for me. I wanted the back up camera.

Thanks for all the detail!

I need to see if I can remove the silver facia from the part and glue/adhesive/whatever it to the existing part. I really don't want to take the door apart to replace the entire part.

I'll snap a few pics this evening to show you what it looks like, and maybe get some suggestions as well/

When my '04 got totaled, I thought about getting a 2010+ Accord Coupe with manual trans. I never drove one because they are hard to find but between driving a '97 Accord the other day (got it as a loaner while my Lexus was serviced) and your comment, I know I made the better choice to stick with the LS.

You made the right choice. I pretty much kicked myself from day one of owning the Accord - and the Accord was/is a very nice car, that my wife is now enjoying.

When the new Accord comes out, I hope it still comes in a stick. It's pretty much going to be the reigning champ as far as most consecutive years on the C&D 10 Best list. I think more years than the number of times the Canadiens have won Stanley Cups.

disclaimer: I have never owned a Honda or Honda product in my life (maybe it's time I got with the program lol)
