Hi...

I have an '02 Ls-430 and I just tried to override my navi after watching the video but was not successful. Could it be that I need to upgrade my navigation system first? My version (version 1 I think) has never been upgraded. Or could it be that I just foolishly don't know how to follow instructions? All suggestions are welcome.

Thanks.

In case of newer versions like '05 or '06 models, you can take the DVD out, get a loading file from different (older) version DVDs, and burn a new DVD. But yours is '02 with ver.1? well... I thought that's the version with a loading file that lets you override...

Thanks for the response information. Mine has the 2001 ver. 1, but the car is '02. I noticed that the menu screen in the video has a slightly different configuration from mine, but I don't know what that means.

Are you saying there is a software mod to to a disc to override ? Or are you saying I can take a disc from a 05-06 LS and create a new disc with some of the old files from a older disc to override ? Could I also copy over the new maps and replace them on a older DVD and have updated maps ?

It would be nice not to have to go though that process every time I start up the car, also it would be nice to see the radio messages with out stopping....

Any clue ?

For 01-03, the method is slightly different. There is a write up for it but cant seem to find it. I'm sure someone will chime in on the instructions.

The hybrid disc only allows you use the touch screen method to unlock each time. If you want a more permanent solutions, then purchase a CoastalTech Lockpick or wire a by pass switch. The lockpick will auto "Accept" at the opening screen and allows for nav and phone input on the fly. I also am able to get radio messages. Actually what I really like is able to view what is songs is playing on all my presets and select the station. (Only works if the station is pumping out RDS messages.)

Airtime,

I have a 05 LS430 and I put a Lockpick Blue about six months ago which does the trick. However, I was just told that if I upgrade my nav to the latest 07 edition that my Lockpick will be useless....

Yes, unless you create a Hybrid disk. Follow the instructions here:
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...&postcount=124

Substitute the instruction of v6.1 with V7.1.

Sigers98,

Thank you very much. I will try it the next time I get into my car. This is well appreciated. Thanks again!

Will this procedure work for the 2001 LS? I have tried it and it does not seem to work. Maybe I'm doing the procedure wrong?
