Default Aftermarket headlight housings

Has anyone purchased aftermarket oem-replacement headlight housings and had experience with them? I'm potentially looking for a set, but the seller says they're not compatible with the auto-level motor. Just wanted to see if anyone actually tried it.

Are you looking to replace the headlights because the outer lens are yellowing or faded? If so, they can polish or repaint and save you LOTS of $$$. Polishing lasts several months but painting with a product like 2K will last a very long time.

Nah...there's a leak somewhere from the top of the headlights. I could reseal it but water damage is already apparent inside. Figure I just replace the whole thing.

Go get a used one off eBay.

@Galco...yep, I just bought an '05 a couple weeks ago and the headlights were in pretty bad shape. I looked out on YouTube and did some research and did my first headlight restoration. The came out fantastic! They aren't 100% good as new but they are 95% and most people will never see the minor imperfection, a little orange peal from the clear.

Did you clear them on or off the car?

I cleared mine on the car. I cut open some big trash bags and placed them over the the whole front and hood. I then cut out the area around the headlights and taped off the everything that was needed. I put the car in the garage to cut down on wind and was mindful on how I sprayed. I ended up doing 3 coats but probably should have stuck to 2. The second coats was pretty much perfect. Got a little greedy and caused slight orange peel on the top right of one. Not enough to really worry about and I can just about guarantee no one would point it out unless I showed them. I thought about wet sanding that one again but thought I might end up making things worse so I left it alone.

BTW, I found out the hard way that '01 - '04 the headlight came out easy but on the '04 - '06 you have to take the front bumper off to get to a bolt on each headlight.
