Default 04-06 transmission swap to 01-03 LS 430

I was wonder if it would be possible to swap a 04-06 transmission into a 01-03 LS 430?

Would cost a fortune to do it correctly and have the car actually start and run when it was finished. Too many computers in these cars. Youd have a million different codes being thrown.

cheaper to sell the older one and buy an 2005 or 2006 these days.

I've got an 04 that runs perfectly (well except for the NAV display). No trans problems. Other than the trans issues on the early 04's, any real difference between an 04 and 05-06? Did the NAV display problem get fixed?

No people had have the bav screen issues in 05 and 06 as well as the mark lev amp issues. one of the reasons i spent so much time searching for a premium package without nav or the ML system.

Thanks for the info. Agree w/ you on premium package. I couldn't find one. I had an 01 Base for 3+ years. Other than standard maintenance, nothing went wrong. Also have the aftermarket stereo option. On the 04, most of the problems taken care by past owner. New ML amp for example. I've had the subwoofer totally redone.

NAV display board is getting tested by Sacramento (CA) area shop. Repair estimate is 300-400. Worst case is 650 if new board. If these guys do a good job, I'll post the info.

I posted the 04 vs 05-06 as a separate thread to see if there are any differences or improvements.
