Did the condition you described (everything on the dash goes on and off) happen after the car died? Were you able to re-start the engine? What happened when you try to re-start? Do you have a volt-meter to measure voltage at the battery - I suspect it's much lower than the 12+ volts required to run some of the electronics.

I agree with @rkw77080. If you are getting full power from your battery, try removing the connections for at least 30 minutes. You will lose all of your pre-sets, but it resets the system.

Yes everything happened when it died. I tried to start it back up and nothing happened. I jumped it off and got it home the whole time everything was going on and off. I have the battery on a charger now. I have a feeling it may be the alternator but im not sure.

Yes, this is definitely a symptom of a bad alternator. Different alternator part # depending on year of LS: '01 - '03 and '04 - '06. (If you have an '04, it will depend on build date for the correct alternator. There was a change shortly after the start of '04 production).

Thanks for sharing info on the issue. Please let us know if replacing the alternator corrects your problem. Another thing to look at in case alternator replacement does not correct your current problem is to look for and clean up any corrosion in and around fuse boxes, ground cables, and connectors to ECMs.
