Who has the Beat Sonic in their 430 with ML?
i am DONE with the impossible to find specialty stereo system parts for the LS 430. I love the car (in fact I have owned all three years of the 3.5 gen 04,05 and 06). This last one, is now doing the same annoying things the first two did... sub surround foam...blown door speakers and NOW a blown tweeter. I have already scrounged and repaired 4 door speakers, two subs and now I see my self having to go through all the hassle again because I refuse to get raped at the dealer for sub-standard audio parts.
Better to just rip the whole thing out and spend the same money I would spend at the dealer, but end up with a better sounding system and easily replaceable parts.
Looks like the Beat-Sonic install kit is a way to finally do that while retaining a fully functioning navigation screen. I don't use the actual NAV because it sucks compared to modern phone apps and (I assume) whatever comes in the new double DIN screen head units.
My concerns are if the steering wheel controls remain functioning, volume and especially the phone button. I really don't like taking my eyes off the road at all in the crazy Miami traffic.

I replaced the STOCK stereo with a double din Pioneer AVIC 5000 using a beatsonic. The 04 needs a beatsonic adapter with stock head unit wiring. The BS unit was $250 and no steering wheel controls. I looked around for a kit but I dont care about steering controls.

I DIY installed the Beatsonic MVA-24L double DIN kit in my 2004 LS430 in the first couple of weeks of owning. Put the head unit from my old car, still a decent one with bluetooth and Nav, not no phone mirroring. The stock navigation is sadly very outdated, the new map discs cannot change the low resolution and old fashioned layout.
I now play music from USB and bluetooth stream music from phone to the aftermarket unit. As mentioned in this forum earlier, you retain the volume up and down buttons of the ML amp (not the aftermarket unit), and all phone controls of the stock unit. Steering wheel buttons would not communicate with the aftermarket unit, and there is no solution to this due to the way it is designed by Lexus (I use a cheap steering wheel remote from eBay for the aftermarket unit to get around this).
I am going to get a Mirabox WI-FI unit to hook to the RCA AV IN of the aftermarket unit, so I can mirror my phone on to the screen, and play from Spotify and Google Music with album art and song info displayed. I have also done the DIY NAV unlock (the wire cutting method) so pressing the mode button will bring the phone screen to the top stock screen, and I run iGo Primo navigation in the bottom aftermarket screen
