Bridgestone Turanza Serenity S is an extremely quiet and comfortable tire. I have used them on many cars in varying wheel sizes and profiles and they have never disappointed. I had Michelin Primacy tires on my 2000 LS400 initially and I liked the Serenity tires much, much better. Wet handling was much better and much quieter.

My mom just got those with a plus, on her TSX. Seriously, when I saw that name, I thought of undergarments, why would their marketing dept. use that name...maybe it was a translation....

once again cheaper at Costco than online, starting to see a pattern emerge...

edit: just read the review. It's so hard to fault the French. Never bad at anything, where they say the Pirellis were not good in wet, and Bridgestones not good in snow....

Just to clarify the examples mentioned are all season, not summer category tires. Michelin's Pilot Super Sport, Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole Position are summer tire examples.

Don't get summer tires. Get grand touring tires. You should go to tirerack.com to research. A good example is Tiranza serenity.

Again, my mom got the Plus' at Costco, cheaper out the door than online. I've been a customer of the above for I think 2 decades, but I don't mind saving money. Pretty sure the Premiers can also be bought at Costco. I'm not a salesman, but if we can save money, why not.

I have 17's and ran the Primacy from 77k until I switched recently at 126k to the Premier A/S. I have to say, I think the Primacys were quieter and more comfortable. Premiers aren't bad, just liked the Primacy better. Too bad they no longer make them.

I agree with you, Brad. The Premiers also start with a shorter tread depth when new, and with a softer composition sunflower oil-based rubber, the tire quickly wears down to 2/32nds tread depth on the heavy LS sedan. Michelin claims the Primacy is still safe all the way down to the wear bars, but who wants to find out whether that's true?

I squirreled away 4 new 18" Primacy's a couple years ago and will install next summer.

Not sure how true, but the tire industry claims tires should be replaced at 6 yrs regardless of mileage....my OEM Bridgestone RE050A's were tossed after 9.5 yrs., no dry rot. My wife's Michelin Latitudes had tons of dry rot at age 5, we just tossed them. Actually started after year 2. Michelin claims they are fine, yet they recalled certain ones, not ours....

edit just checked on the 6 yr rule and that comes from the car mfg....I am ok with 10. We need to get away from folks telling us to toss things that are ok, such as when everyone was changing oil ever 3k or 3 mos....

The Primacy's on the LS430 are going strong and I was sad to hear that Michelin no longer offered them. These were acquired through Costco. Very quiet and rides well.

There are a couple of threads here and in the 460 section touting the Pirelli P7s but not sure what those are classified as (summer, all season, etc.).

I have the 17's on my car and I just installed the Michelin Defenders. They are quiet and have a 90,000 mile warranty and were rated a best buy by Consumer Reports.

Took another look and IMHO it boils down to Premier a/s or pilot sport a/s 3+. The latter should last 25% less, the former lasts 33% more (this is probably the better way to present). Any other choice is to save $$$$ or be different lol. The older I get the more I am willing to pay more to get marginally less, but more overall, meaning more in an absolute way. And, Costco has both...as of this instant, 3/4 cars are riding on Michelins. Truly a I am not sure when I became loyal to them, snuck up on me...

Can anyone recommend me a tire for my LS430 '02 running on those 04/05 rims (245/45/18)
I live in a hot country hence the only water I go through are puddles left by broken sprinklers hah.

Looking for an all season tire that can handle the heat but my main requirement is comfort and sound. I want that smooth quite ride the LS has always promised.
I bought the car from someone who put on Kumho's and yeah, they've ripped apart and are chipping off... not good!

I've read reviews on the Bridgestone Turanza GR90 and am wondering if these are good or has anyone had any experience with these?

Never tried Bridgestone. All is use is Michelin. Quiet and smooth. Either AS or Primacy for the 18's.

My local lexus dealer is selling Kumho as premium category tires. This is my recommendation.
