Default Air suspension parts

Just picked up a 01 LS430 UL and the front air suspension is noisy and hard. Got a used good set from my friends UL and his have kyb label on them and he didn't label which ones were front, rear, or which side. Anyone have an idea which is which?

Also how do you remove old airline from old air shocks?

I'm pretty sure the shorter fatter ones are for the rear. You don't see OEM stickers on them? Left and right are the same.

Just finished the fronts and figured which were the fronts by comparing old with the newer. I noticed the fronts have same part number so I guess they can be either passenger or drivers side. Everything was pretty easy except for the stupid airline connector on the struts. I finally made a tool with another air tubing just slightly larger than the one on the LS. Cut a piece about 1" or 2" and splice it in half only on one side. Slip this over the LS air tube and slide into the connect where it will release the 2 plastic clips that hold the LS line in place and it should free it.

I'm still getting a creaking noise on drivers front side when I brake or go over a bump.

I have some too when cold. I think it's the sway bar links on mine as they are original. Have not had time to get to them yet.

If you don't mind, how many miles on your 01 ul? I just bought one too, and wondered if your air ride went out due to age or miles? I've already bought coil overs for it, yet haven't even driven it yet. I have just come to the conclusion that an air ride set up that old is going to fail sooner rather than later? Thanks

109k miles
When I took out the old air struts, I notice the air bags still good but it's the shocks that are gone. I could easily push it in with very little force and stay compressed. You would know when your air struts are bad when going over speed bumps, would be noisy and not very smooth. I know cause my community has tons of these stupid speed bumps and I would have to drive thru them everyday to get to my house.

142,5 on mine. I'm impressed with their longevity. I've had a set of nice used ones on standby for years now.
