Just bought '05 LS430 and it does not clear the step up to the kitchen

Default Just bought '05 LS430 and it does not clear the step up to the kitchen



The problem is that right-angle plastic part right in front of the front tire (actually two of them). They are held by three screws. What would be the consequence if I removed the plastic parts?

What are they for, seems if they are what I am thinking the back ones have a habit of unscrerwing themselves

They are they for aerodynamics diverting air around the tires helping achieve that 0.25/0.26 drag coefficient and up to 29+ mpg. Most cars have them now and the LS since the UCF20.

Thanks for the info. How they help reduce the drag is still a mystery to me, but I don't care what it is so everything is fine.

OP means the concrete step in the garage front which is the height of a parking block - it's a building code for safety.

hahaha, this is awesome. I was just looking at these plastic, aerodynamic pieces and want to replace them. They're all bent up at this point due to the previous driver. I need to lower my coefficient. I'm looking for where to get these....

Funny enough I put mine back on just yesterday after removing them while replacing the generator months ago.
Kinda missed em while they were off.
