Am I being too picky on a 15 year old car? On smooth asphalt, the car is a perfect. On my crappy country roads its just clunky and everything squeaks.

I have an '01 UL as well, but mine is perfect still. No problems what so ever and runs like new. It has 101,000 miles on it.

Thank you for the insight. Project list for next week: Outer tie rods, transmission mount, sway bar bushings front and rear. Hopefully this will help!

Lower ball joints are normally very good even at 130K but the upper control arm/ball joint turns to mush. Outer tie rods do the same. You mentioned the lower bushings were replaced but were they installed correctly? Was the lower control arm replaced? If so, there is a camber bolt and alignment plate that need to be matched. Also, the suspension needs to be stabilized before torqueing the bushing/arm into place. If not, those bushing could be worn at 30k miles. Look for obvious cracks in the rubber. Use the TIS repair manual online service when doing repairs. $15 for two days use and ability to download. Fantastic value!

I recently had a terrible squeaking noise , I just had repaired , it was on the rear drivers side by the tire .A leveling sensor bracket broke off and was making a terrible noise .Lexus wanted $470.00 for the sensor and bracket ,just replaced the bracket ,now the car is silent again

I just replaced the outer tie rods, front and rear sway bar bushings. Car feels a little better. Not as clunky but not perfect. I purchased the tranny mount to replace but I can't get the old one and the brace bar off. Ugh.

Thank you Hawdong for that excellent PDF showing so clearly the suspension anatomy. I am relatively new to this site and continue to be amazed at the trouble people here take to provide information to complete strangers.

Do you have the same for the LS430 2004 to 2006 or point me to where it is?

Merry Christmas to all from the Canary Islands
