2002 ls 430/ what does vsc mean
Recently 'vsc' warning comes on often, and hesitation often happens, then both hesitation and vsc are gone. Why? Code p1305 was noted after scan, but some months ago, I changed bank 2 coil. I have been sensing a gasoline smell. My mileage is 17mpg. Had it scoped again today, but no error code. Some posts mention 02 sensors might be involved, so has anyone else had this issue? I'm approaching 149,000, and was told that I'll need a valve gasket and brakes.

Hey Tom, I recently had the spark plugs replaced, and some months ago, I replaced the bank 2 coil, which is the code showing now. I was told that I need to change my valve cover gasket about 2 months ago. Today, I had the oil changed when I went to have the cel done again, the cel wouldn't light up. I bought my LS two years ago, and have been repairing it according to my budget. I no longer have a garage, so diy isn't so anymore. 148,000 are my miles, and I haven't had the o2 sensors done. I read a number of the posts that mention my issue maybe the o2s. Tom, if its the o2s, what's decent price?

Make sure the wire harness to coil 2 is connected well. If you can, when the VSC light comes back on, check for codes again. The hesitation could be clogged fuel injectors too, as well as throttle body (intake). Has the mass air flow sensor been cleaned. That is an easy DIY you can do without a garage.
Typically, when the o2 sesnors are faulty, you'll get a specific code. If it's the oxygen sensors, you would only do the front (upstream / pre-catalytic) o2 sensors (driver & passenger sides). I would replace the front o2 sensors anyway, given your mileage. Here is the CL link: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-...t-numbers.html
The OEM Denso sensors can be obtained on Amazon for ~ $100 for the pair. Since you can't DIY, I'd find an independent shop that will install sensors that you bring to them. If you intend to keep your vehicle for awhile, I'd replace the front sensors regardless of the VSC light.
