Satellite Radio for the 2005 LS430
The one option I wanted in my 2005 LS430 was Satellite Radio and I don't think it is installed in the car.
Is there a Lexus module/Accessory that can be added if it's not installed?
I followed the instructions from the owners manual but can't seem to find any thing related to Satellite Radio in the radio system. How would I confirm if the option is installed?
What is the roof mounted antenna used for?
Thanks up front for any comments

Thank you for the Satellite installation information, I was disappointed to see that a second receiving antenna is required for the adapter to work.
I was hoping that the current roof mounted antenna would work for the satellite installation.
Looks like a huge job to do it correctly, I think there are 17 pages of instruction plus the cost of the hardware.
Thanks for information but a little more work than I anticipated.

This is actually a pretty simple DIY. I recently installed OEM satellite radio (which was an "Accessory" in '04 - '06) in one of my '06's. The key components are: the OEM satellite radio tuner (part # 1 in picture on page 2 of install instructions) (Lexus / Toyota part #86120-AA150) generally available on eBay and parts recyclers for under $100. Be sure to also get the tuner junction wiring cable (part # 2A in the instructions). This wiring cable is essential to connect the tuner to the OEM sound system. It's plug 'n play. Finally, obtain a Terk (after-market) micro satellite antenna XMICRO2 XM Mini Roof Mount Antenna ($17) and a Terk single to dual input splitter XMSP ($20) both available on Amazon. (Mount the satellite antenna concealed inside the 3d brake light housing and run the wire into the passenger side trunk to connect to tuner. (See install instructions for tuner location and install.) There are existing CL threads on satellite radio, sound quality, etc. (I don't use satellite for music.) There are after-market options, of course, for satellite radio as well.
Edit: You can also acquire the mounting bracket and clip (in the picture in instructions), but these items are not absolutely essential. The tuner can be easily tied in with zip ties.

Are you sure about that? I thought i read a lengthy thread about the roof antenna being a relic of the onstar type service they offered in pre 2004 ls 430 models

The roof antenna on a 2005 LS430 serves no purpose. It was part of the Lexus Link function on earlier models. It is a different frequency and will not work if hooked to GPS or XM Sat radio. There is at least one other thread on this same topic within the LS430 board here.

So where is the antenna for the GPS/Nav system located?
There is some unidentified device located just above the rear view mirror on my car, could that be an antenna?

The GPS antenna is in the right rear trunk (see post # 8 picture). The device above the inside rear view mirror attached to the windshield is the rain sensor.

The device I refer to is not attached to the winshield, it is about as wide as the mirror and maybe 1" high. It is just above the inside mirror mounted about 1/2" above it. It can be adjusted to a certain degree.
I think it is wrapped in the same fabric as the headliner.
Is that what you refer to as the wiper sensor?

I recently installed the SoundLinQ system for Bluetooth streaming and Sirius radio in mine. For this install, I decided to place the satellite antenna under the third brake light and run the cable under the trim to the front. The whole process of installing the hardware and antenna took about 45 minutes and I am very pleased with the outcome.
