L.E.D, CREE L.E.D, or HID DRL's?

Hey CL, I've been on the fence for awhile recently between some different choices for DRL's (daytime running lamps) for my 03 LS430. I was hoping some of you guys (or gals) could chime in with some pics of your own. I'm actually leaning toward the 50w cree led in amber. Gotta get rid of the dull incandescent!

You will loose your high beams if you do that. The drl's are the high beams running at 6v. I put the Phillips drl kit on mine. Stock drl's can be turned off via Toyota Techstream.

I know in my case I just had the DRLs shut off via the Techstream. I really think it "dates" the car to have those running all the time, just really ruined the looks in my opinion, like a pair of old flashlights that's on its last legs.

I couldn't find a good compromise between a nice white LED for my DRLs and losing my high beams (which I use regularly) It was basically one or the other.

So now if I really want lights on in the daytime, I can just flip my headlights on.

I'd be interested to see a CREE LED. Those things power up and punch with lots of lumens even though they're just LEDs with no projection or anything.

I say CREE leds, and don't forget to post pics.

i haven't even heard of the CREE LED.

Anyone got some pics and info ?
