Default Cooper CS4 Touring with the m/s logo

Hey All,

Definitely learned a lot from reading all of the threads on Michelin's new tire. And I've found TireRack's website a wealth of knowledge.

After some research, come to the quick conclusion that Cooper tires are worthless. Bought a 2003 that came with CS4 Touring tires, complete with the m/s logo. They've been balanced twice, even payed 900 bucks to swap rims, as I thought the rims were the problem behind steering vibration on highways.

Heck, had a lot of problems with the tires coming off bead, and was a frequent guest at Tires Plus last winter. One of the Cooper's came off bead, and I drove a block to a gas station to swap, and it was destroyed. Yes, I should have swapped on-site, but if any of you are familiar with Lake Street in Minneapolis, you don't want to change a tire there. Changed out to 1 Serenity Plus.

This winter, traction is absolutely horrible with the 3 Coopers, and I expect more trouble if they are kept on the car. In summary, by sharing, I hope this is a learning experience for all. With tires, you get what you pay for. I'm sure the Xice 3 or Blizzaks are both wonderful- if you have either, be content. Don't wish for the other, but feel good with your decision.

Surprised to read this.
I put a set on my step father's Cadilac STS a few years ago and they were great.
My friend had these on his Honda van and he likes them too.

Me, I pay more for Michelin tires .... but I am a tire snob, lol

And they are consistently rated the best by consumer reports. They are my first set and I am a believer.

Okay, interesting to hear other people's feedback. The reviews for Cooper CS4 were not at all friendly, but then again, consumer reviews seldom are.
