200 miles after my wife fueled her LS430, the CHECK VSC light came on. My wife does not usually go to the gas station and this INCIDENT did NOT connect in my thought process until I Google searched "Lexus Check VSC" and several responses provided a fix of "...tighten the fuel cap, or replace, or repair, etc...". Sure enough, I went to the car and the gas cap was not re-installed correctly. So, we had a "how to install gas cap" lesson.

The error still did not clear until I disconnected the NEGATIVE battery lead for a couple of hours to allow the computers and error code to reset.

Hopefully this thread title will help someone else BEFORE they go to a repair center and spend the precious commodity of money.

Nice. Just a FYI all you need is like 15 seconds instead of two hours to do a soft reset but glad that fixed your problem.
